(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Heavy rains of above 100 mm are expected particularly in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva and Eastern provinces and in Galle, Matara and Polonnaruwa districts, the Meteorology Department said.
Moderate rains or thundershowers are expected in the Western, Southern provinces, Puttalam and Mannar districts.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
The Met. Department urged the public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
