Sri Lanka raises fuel prices from midnight yesterday

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – The Ministry of Finance following the monthly meeting of the committee on fuel prices revision held yesterday announced that fuel prices have been increased with effect from midnight yesterday (11), based on the pricing formula.

Accordingly, price of a liter of Petrol 92 increased by Rs 6, Petrol 95 increased by Rs 5, auto diesel by Rs. 4 and Super Diesel increased by Rs 8.

Under the Fuel Price Formula diesel price should have been raised by 9.59 rupees, but the government raised the price by Rs. 4 not to affect the public and the transport sector, the Finance Ministry said.

Accordingly, the new prices are as follows:

92 Octane Petrol – Rs. 129
95 Octane Petrol – Rs. 152
Auto Diesel – Rs. 103
Super Diesel – Rs. 126
