(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –The funeral of Srima Dissanayake, wife of the late Minister Gamini Dissanayake, will take place today at 3 p.m. at the Borella General Cemetery.
Srima Dissanayake passed away on Friday (March 29) at the age of 77 while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo.
Her remains are lying at No.6/1, Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo 7. Cortege leaves residence at 2 p.m. today.
Mrs. Dissanayake was the mother of two sons – Plantations Industries Minister Naveen Dissanayake and United National Party MP Mayantha Dissanayake and a daughter Varuni Dissanayake.
Srima Dissanayake, a lawyer by profession, and a member of the Central Provincial Council contested the 1994 presidential election from the United National Party against former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga.
