Ministers told not to comment on Easter Sunday attacks probe

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says it has been decided that he or any Minister will not comment on the investigations being conducted on the Easter Sunday attacks.

He said that while investigations have been successful only the Police will comment on anything related to the investigations and not any Minister.

“What we require now is not to reveal everything related to the investigations to the media and try score points but ensure the investigations are completed swiftly,” he said.

The Prime Minister said that the Government will not leave room for the investigations to be affected by revealing all the details to the media.

He said this at a meeting held at Temple Trees today.

Speaking further, the Prime Minister said that several suspects linked to the Easter Sunday attacks have been arrested.

He said that the recent violence will only hamper the progress of the investigations.
