UNDP reiterates support to Sri Lanka to achieve SDGs

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) yesterday reiterated its support for Sri Lanka to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The new UNDP Resident o Sri Lanka Robert Juhkam gave this assurance when he called on President Maithripala Sirisena today at the President’s Office.

The UN envoy informed the President of UNDP’s current development programs in the country and assured the President to further extend the UNDP’s support to Sri Lanka in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals through key development priorities of the country.

The UNDP Resident Representative also met with the Secretary to the President, Udaya Seneviratne earlier and reiterated support to the government in improving water security in Sri Lanka thru the Integrated Water Management Project funded by the Green Climate Fund established through the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
