Warning of heavy rain

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Issuing a special warning on heavy rain are likely to occur at most parts of the island, stated the Department of Meteorology.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Northern, Eastern, North-central and Uva provinces and in Matale and Hambanthota districts. Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere particularly after 2.00 p.m.

Very heavy falls about 100-150 mm are likely at some places in Northern province and in Polonnaruwa and Trincomalee districts. Heavy falls about 75-100 mm are likely at some places in Central province and in Ampara, Batticaloa and Anuradhapura districts.
