(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Minister of Education, Dullas Alahapperuma says that the GCE Ordinary Level examination results will be released before the 30th of this month.
Speaking at a press conference held in Colombo today, the Minister requested the people not be fooled by some irresponsible social media reports.
Minister of Higher Education Bandula Gunawardena said that applications for admission to universities could be made within two weeks from the commencement of public schools.
Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Education earlier decided to close all government schools in the country until April 20 due to the risk of coronavirus spreading in the country. However, given the current situation, that date may be postponed.
Meanwhile, the government has decided to maintain the ‘Eye’ and ‘Nalika’ television channels of Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation as the national educational channels. The aim of the program is to uninterruptedly continue the education of the children who remain at home in the face of the prevailing situation in the country.
