Ten new patients move COVID-19 infections to 1,558

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Ten more persons tested positive for Covid-19 as of 11.00 pm Yesterday (29), moving Sri Lanka’s cases count to 1,558.

The Ministry of Health confirmed that all these virus cases are navy men who are undergoing quarantine.

A total of 28 fresh coronavirus infections have been reported so far within the day – 17 navy men and 11 returnees.

Earlier Yesterday (29), nine coronavirus patients were discharged from the Colombo East Base Hospital, Navy Hospital and Homagama Base Hospital as they had recovered completely. This brought the recoveries tally to 754.

The number of actives cases currently under medical accordingly stands at 794.

Sri Lanka reported its 10th COVID-19 death on Monday (25) as a 51-year-old woman who had arrived in the country from Kuwait succumbed to the disease.
