Sri Lanka reports two deaths from COVID-19 Sunday raising toll to 213

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – Sri Lanka confirmed two deaths on Sunday due to COVID-19 raising the death toll from the viral disease to 213, according to health authorities.

The Director General of Health Services confirmed following three deaths caused by COVID-19 virus infection and accordingly the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 213 by now.

01. The deceased is a 57 year old female from Welipanna area. She was diagnosed as infected with Covid -19 virus at Kalutara General Hospital and transferred to Homagama Base Hospital where she died on 03 January 2021. The cause of death is COVID-19 pneumonia and exacerbated heart disease.

02. The deceased is a 76 year old female from Colombo-15 area. She was diagnosed as infected with Covid -19 virus at a National Hospital in Colombo and transferred to Base Hospital Homagama where she died on 03.01.2021. The cause of death is COVID-19 pneumonia, heart disease and epilepsy.
