DEFENCE WING OFFICERS OF INDIAN HIGH COMMISSION CALL ON SRI LANKAN DEFENCE HIERARCHY IN THE FIRST WEEK OF 2021

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Defence wing officers of Indian High Commission, Colombo called on the senior hierarchy of Sri Lankan Defence Forces in the very first week of 2021.

The Assistant Defence Adviser to High Commission of India, Lt Col Puneet Sushil paid a courtesy call to the Secretary Defence General (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne, WWV, RWP, RSP, USP, ndc, psc on 08 Jan 21 and to the Chief of Defence Staff & Commander of Sri Lanka Army General Shavendra Silva, WWV, RWP, RSP, VSV, USP, ndc, psc on 06 Jan 21. The Assistant Defence Adviser communicated the congratulatory wishes of the High Commissioner and the Defence Wing on their deserving promotion to the rank of General which is a true recognition of their selfless service to the motherland. He also held cordial discussion to further strengthen and enhance the ongoing bilateral defence cooperation between the two countries in multiple domains. Mementos were exchanged following the discussions.

Capt Vikas Sood, Defence Advicer alongwith the ADA also called on Maj Gen TS Sallay, RWP, RSP, USP, ndc, psc, Director State Intelligence Service on 08 Jan 21 and Maj Gen (Retd) Ruwan Kulatunga, RSP, ndc, psc, Chief of National Intelligence on 07 Jan 21. Discussions on topics of mutual interest and areas of cooperation between two countries were held during the meeting.
