Sri Lanka reports six COVID-19 deaths Monday, toll exceeds 400

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – Sri Lanka confirmed six deaths on Monday due to COVID -19 raising the death toll from the viral disease to 403, according to health authorities.

The Director General of Health Services confirmed the following deaths caused by COVID -19 virus infection and accordingly the total number of deaths due to COVID -19 infection in Sri Lanka is 403 by now.

01. The deceased is a 78 year old male from Divulankadawela. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 and transferred from Welikanda Covid Treatment Center to National Institute of Infectious Diseases where he died on February 14. The Cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.

02. The deceased is a 48 year old female from Pallethalawinna. She was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 virus and transferred from Kandy General Hospital to National Institute of Infectious Diseases where she died on February 14. The Cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and complex kidney disease and damage to kidneys.

03. The deceased is a 57 year old male from Hanwella. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 virus and transferred from the Maharagama Apeksha Hospital to National Institute of Infectious Diseases where he died on February 15. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and cancer.

04. The deceased is an 80 year old male from Nugegoda. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 and transferred from a Private Hospital in Colombo to National Institute of Infectious Diseases where he died on February 14. The Cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia, shock due to blood poisoning, acute kidney damage, heart disease, high blood pressure and hyperlipidemia.

05. The deceased is 68 year old male from Wattala. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 and transferred from Dompe District Hospital to Homagama base hospital where he died on February 14. The Cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia, shock due to blood poisoning, complicated kidney disease and acute diabetes.

06. The deceased is 70 year old male from Hunnasgiriya. He died on February 14 while receiving treatment at the Kandy General Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia, acute diabetes and heart failure.
