Sri Lanka mission in Japan facilitates ‘Laksala Handicrafts’ to franchise in Japan

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Laksala Handicrafts has signed a Master Franchise Agreement with Sala Enterprises Wednesday 06 October 2021, according to the Foreign Ministry.

The Sri Lanka Mission in Japan was instrumental in finding three suitable candidates as the initial Franchise within two months of receiving the requests.

Sala Enterprises as the master franchisee for Laksala in Japan currently decided to collaborate with M&J Retail Outlets that carry 100% Sri Lankan Products as the first franchisee to carry Laksala Handicrafts.

M&J Group’s latest retail store was opened in the AEON Mall in Narita few weeks ago where they also operate a largescale Italian Restaurant. M&J will also facilitate the logistical aspects of all Laksala online sales in Japan. Sala Enterprises is planning to launch a Japanese language Laksala products website custom made to the Japanese consumers.

Sri Lanka Mission is seeking more partners to retail and distribute over 50,000 Sri Lankan items that Laksala carries within Japan. If there are any interested parties wanting to distribute Laksala products in Japan please contact the Commercial Secretary of this Mission, Kapila J. Kumara. [email protected]

Though most Sri Lankan products have some tariffs in Japan, most Laksala Handicrafts will fall under the HS Codes that have Zero or very minimal tariff which certainly is an advantage to Sri Lanka.
