Ball tampering case: Chandimal appeals against match suspension

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Sri Lankan Cricket Captain Dinesh Chandimal who was suspended for ball-tampering at the Test against West Indies appealed against the suspension imposed by the International Cricket Council (ICC), today.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) alleged Chandimal to have applied saliva containing the residue of something he had in his mouth to the ball during the second Test in St Lucia.

Chandimal who admitted having put something into his mouth pleaded not guilty of the charges filed against him.

However, he was banned by the ICC from playing in the final Test in Bridgetown, which starts on Saturday.
