(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – Sri Lanka’s state-owned retail network, Lanka Sathosa will reduce the prices of 200 essential food items effective from today (05) to provide relief to the consumers during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, Sathosa Deputy General Manager (Operations) Roshan S Hassan said.
Accordingly, the reduced prices of food items will be in effect from Friday.
Some of the food items with reduced prices are;
Red Dhal from Rs.112 to Rs.110
Local Samba from Rs.88 to Rs.84
Red Rice from Rs.59 to Rs.57
White Rice from Rs.70 to Rs.67
White Sugar from Rs.99 to Rs.97
Sprats from Rs.680 to Rs.669
Canned Fish from Rs.200 to Rs.195
Big Onions from Rs.79 to Rs.75
Lanka Sathosa is providing these concessions to the consumers according to the financial allocations received from the Treasury, Mr. Hassan said.
