Modi’s swearing-in ceremony: 8,000 guests to attend event at Rashtrapati Bhavan

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – After a landslide victory in Lok Sabha elections 2019, Narendra Modi is all set to take oath as Prime Minister of India for his second term at 7 pm on Thursday.

President Ram Nath Kovind will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the Prime Minister and other members of the Union Council at Rashtraparti Bhavan in New Delhi in front of a large gathering of national and international dignataries.

A record number of 8,000 guests are likely to attend the swearing-in ceremony. In 2014, approximately 5,000 people attended the ceremony.

The guest list includes heads of several neighbouring countries, chief ministers of most of the states and a few famous personalities of the entertainment world. The families of BJP worker who allegedly lost their lives in political violence in West Bengal in the last one year have also been invited.
