(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – The GCE Advanced Level Examination commences today at 2,678 centers islandwide. The examination will be held till 31st of this month.
Examinations Department said this year 337, 704 candidates including 74,789 private candidates, are taking the exam under old and new syllabuses.
The number of applicants sitting for the examination under the new syllabus is 198,229 and 139,475 applicants take exam under the old syllabus.
This year’s exam will be held under 315 coordinating centers.
The Department announced that special security arrangements are in place at examination centers.
Meanwhile, Grade 5 Scholarship Examination was held on Sunday (Aug 04) at 2995 centers established island wide. A total of 339,369 students took the exam.
