(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of a police sergeant in Batticaloa.
A 50-year-old Police sergeant T.Sivaraja of Putur, Batticaloa attached to the Valaichchenai Police was brutally assaulted and killed at Mullamunai along the Aethiyamalai main road in the Vavunativu Police area yesterday morning.
Police investigations revealed that the police sergeant was killed after a heated argument between him and the two suspects.
The Vavunathivu police are conducting further investigations.
