Sri Lanka President requests to refrain from public display of his image

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Sri Lanka President Gotabaya Rajapaksa requests all parties to refrain from using photos or portrait drawings of him to promote him in public places, events, and ceremonies.

Issuing a media statement, President’s Media Division said the relevant parties are requested not to display photographs and portraits of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in public.

“It has been observed that the President’s portraits and photographs are displayed on the sides of the road and locations of ceremonies without proper supervision,” the statement noted.

“While President Rajapaksa expressing his gratitude to the people who create his portraits state that it is appropriate to avoid such actions. He further says that he does not appreciate the promotion of personal image.”
