First Sri Lankan tested positive for COVID-19 in Italy

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – The first Sri Lankan infected with the COVID-19 new coronavirus has been reported in Italy, the Ministry of Foreign Relations said.

The 46-year-old woman is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Brescia, in the Lombardy region of Italy. Her condition is not critical, according to the Ministry of Foreign Relations.

Italy has the most coronavirus cases of any country outside of Asia and Lombardy, the northern Italian region is at the center of the country’s outbreak, according to reports.
