Group of Sri Lankans repatriated from Qatar and UAE

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – SriLankan Airlines flight carrying 264 Sri Lankans, who were stranded in Qatar due to COVID-19 outbreak, arrived at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) this morning (01).

The SriLankan Airlines flight UL-218 carrying the passengers had departed Doha International Airport in Qatar and arrived at the Katunayake airport at 5:40 am today.

It is reported that most of the passengers are migrant workers employed in Qatar.

Meanwhile, another eight Sri Lankans have arrived from Doha on Qatar Airways flight QR 668 at the Katunayake airport at 1.45 am today.

Meanwhile, a SriLankan Airlines flight has brought back 193 Sri Lankans who were stranded in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the island yesterday.

The special SriLankan Airlines flight from Dubai arrived in Sri Lanka at around 6.30 pm yesterday (June 30).

On arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport, all passengers were subjected to PCR tests before sending them to quarantine centers.
