Sri Lanka reports two more COVID-19 deaths Saturday raising total to 149

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – Sri Lanka reported two more deaths Saturday due to COVID-19 raising the death toll from the viral disease to 149, according to health authorities.

The Director General of Health Services has confirmed following deaths of COVID-19 infected patients and accordingly the total number of deaths from COVID-19 infected patients reported from Sri Lanka is 149.

01. The deceased was a 55 year old male from Colombo 15. He was diagnosed as infected with COVID-19 virus and transferred from Welisara Chest Hospital to Pimbura Base Hospital and later to Base Hospital Mulleriyawa where he died on 11 December 2020 The cause of death is Covid-19 associated pneumonia.

02. A 66 year old male from Imbulgoda area died on December 10, 2020 on admission to the Ragama Teaching Hospital. The leading cause of death was exacerbation of diabetes and pneumonia associated with the COVID-19 infection.
