Investigations to find a fugitive coronavirus patient escaped from Welisara Hospital

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – Sri Lanka Police have launched an investigation to find a 43-year-old COVID-19 patient who has escaped from the National Hospital for Respiratory Diseases in Welisara while receiving treatment at the hospital.

The Police have revealed that the address given by the patient when he was admitted to the hospital was also a fake. Although he had given an address in the Maradana area, it has been revealed that he is a resident of the Grandpass area.

Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said it has been revealed that this person is a drug addict.

The Police Media Division has released a photo of the escaped patient. The Police Media Division requests the public to inform the nearest police station or the 119 emergency number if they rhave any information about this person.

Mahabage Police are currently conducting investigations in coordination with other police stations.
