(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Sri Lanka Police have launched a special operation jointly with the health authorities in the Western Province and surrounding areas Monday (Jan. 11) to nab institutions not complying with COVID-19 regulations, Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
The operation will inquire into the maintenance of both public and private institutions in compliance with the provisions of the gazette issued on 15th October 2020.
Accordingly, the operation will focus on whether factories, supermarkets, institutions, etc. are following the correct health guidelines stipulated in the gazette notification.
DIG Rohana said legal action will be taken against institutions that fail to adhere with COVID-19 regulations according to the respective gazette notification.
