Sri Lanka reports six COVID-19 deaths Tuesday, toll rises to 409

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – Sri Lanka confirmed six deaths on Tuesday due to COVID -19 raising the death toll from the viral disease to 409, according to health authorities.

The Director General of Health Services confirmed the following deaths caused by COVID -19 virus infection and accordingly the total number of deaths due to COVID -19 infection in Sri Lanka is 409 by now.

01. The deceased is a 74 year old male from Panadura. He has died at his residence on January 27. The Cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.

02. The deceased is a 40 year old male from Wilaoya. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 and transferred from Moneragala District Hospital to Kotelawala Defense University Hospital where he died on February 13. The Cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and multi-organ failure.

03. The deceased is a 48 year old male from Piliyandala. He died on February 11 while receiving treatment at the Panadura Base Hospital. The Cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and multiple complications.

04. The deceased is a 77 year old male from Kochchikade. He has died at his residence on February 09. The cause of death is mentioned as stroke due to COVID-19.

05. The deceased is 65 year old male from Hambanthota. He died on February 15 while receiving treatment at the Hambanthota District Hospital. The Cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia, blood poisoning, acute kidney disease.

06. The deceased is 62 year old male from Nainamadama. He died on February 13 while receiving treatment at the Marawila Base Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia, acute diabetes and high blood pressure.
