(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Most Venerable Aggamaha Panditha Kotugoda Dhammawasa Thero, the Mahanayake of the Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Nikaya has passed away on Monday morning (Mar. 22) while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo.
It is reported that the Thero passed away at a private hospital in Colombo at around 3.00 am today (22).
The late Most Venerable Aggamaha Panditha Maha Nayaka Kotugoda Dhammawasa Thero was 88 years old at the time of his demise.
He was born on January 23, 1933 in the village of Kotugoda, Minuwangoda and was ordained in 1948.
