(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – According to Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 2,850 new COVID-19 cases were reported so far on Friday.
Among the positive cases identified Friday are, 2,845 persons from the New Year COVID-19 cluster and 05 foreign arrivals currently in quarantine.
According to the Epidemiology Unit report at 10 pm Friday, a total of 177,711 COVID-19 cases have been reported and 29,986 infected patients are being treated at hospitals, while 146,362 patients have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
Sri Lanka reported 38 deaths due to COVID-19 today raising the total to 1,363.
According to the Epidemiology Unit report, so far total of 1,503,635 people have received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 344,397 have received the second dose.
