New sticker for essential services vehicles from tomorrow

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – Steps have been taken to introduce a new sticker scheme from tomorrow (07) to replace the one-day sticker scheme for vehicles entering Colombo for essential services during the travel restriction period, said Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana.

The new sticker will be valid for the entire period for which the travel restrictions apply, the Police Media Spokesman said.

DIG Rohana said the new system, which is applicable to all periods of traffic restrictions, will solve the problem of delays faced by vehicles entering the city of Colombo.

The vehicles arriving in Colombo tomorrow (June 07) for essential services are required to provide their details to a particular entry point. However, this may cause delays, the police spokesperson noted.
