(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – A stock of one million doses of China’s Sinopharm vaccine against COVID-19 arrived in Sri Lanka from China this morning.
Accordingly, this was the largest consignment of vaccines brought to Sri Lanka at one time.
On two previous occasions, the Chinese government provided 1.1 million doses of Sinopharm vaccines to Sri Lanka as a donation.
State Minister of Production, Supply and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals Channa Jayasumana said the consignment will be used to administer the second dose to eligible persons and also to vaccinate residents in high-risk areas in 12 districts.
