Another stock of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines arrives in the island

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Another consignment of the U.S. manufactured Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine purchased by the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation (SPC) has arrived in Sri Lanka early Monday.

This consignment of 305,370 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine was flown to Bandaranaike International Airport from Amsterdam via Doha on a Qatar Airways cargo flight QR-668 which arrived around 2:00 am Tuesday.

After unloading the consignment, it was stored in the airport air cargo refrigerator and then transported by the Sri Lanka Pharmaceuticals Corporation’s refrigerated trucks to their central storage facility in Colombo.
