Jaffna Kings Announces Hemang Badani as Consultant for LPL 2021

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Jaffna Kings announces Hemang Kamal Badani as the Consultant to the coaching staff for the upcoming (2021) Lanka Premier League (LPL).  Badanihas successfully played the dual role of a seasoned Indian cricketer and a certified Level 2 Coach,training franchise cricket teams.

Hemang Badani is a polished middle-order batsman and a sleek fielder who was able to bag an IPL contract with Chennai Super Kings in 2010. When he was a budding youth of 23, Badani came into an Indian one-day side and instantly seemed the best fit to fill the void left by Ajay Jadeja. Upright, and given to scoring in the V, Badani proved adept at remaining not out, and his high point was a wonderfully paced hundred against Australia at Pune. His most famous innings was the One DayInternational against Australia in the 2000–2001 series at Pune, where he scored a gritty century. Badani has played 40 ODIs and over 100 first class matches.

He was the Head Coach of Board Presidents 11 against Australia, South Zone team for Duleep trophy,and CSG in the Tamil Nadu Premier League. All these teams have performed remarkably well in their respective tournaments which is testimonial to Badani’s talent as a coach and consultant. He has also worked as a professional personal coach a number of Indian players on their batting.Badani received the opportunity to work with the Leicester Cricket academy in the UK as a result of his successful coaching career.

A fierce player in the field, Badani is also anentertainingcricket commentatorwho commented at Star Sports and BCCI. Badani accompanied the victorious Jaffna team as the Consultant at last year’s LPL proving that Kings can place great hopes on his leadership
