(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The 2021 GCE Advanced Level Examination begins today (07) and will continue until the 5th March. The examination that was scheduled to be held last year was postponed to this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A total of 345,242 students are scheduled to sit for the GCE Advanced Level examination this year at 2,438 examination Centers Island wide. Of them 279,141 are school candidates while 66,101 are private candidates.
The Commissioner General of Examinations LMD Dharmasena stated that 29 separate centers have been set up at the district level for candidates infected with COVID-19.
Candidates who are quarantined must report to the designated examination center mentioned in their examination admission form and inform the relevant examination supervisors that they are under quarantine.
Candidates will then be given the opportunity to sit for the examination in a special examination room set up in the examination hall in accordance with proper health procedures.
This time too, the usual examination rules will be enforced and it will be prohibited to bring any unnecessary items such as electronic devices, electronic watches and mobile phones into the examination hall.
