President pledges to fulfill all promises, raise farmers’ income by 100%

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – President Gotabaya Rajapaksa says the groups that ruled the country previously are reuniting to mislead the people and drag the country into the abyss.

The President said despite the challenges, he is committed to increasing the income of the farming community by one hundred percent and protecting the country and the people as promised in the “Vision of Prosperity” policy.

President Rajapaksa made these pledges while addressing the ‘First People’s Rally’ organized by the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).

A public rally to educate the public on the government’s political and development programs was held under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Salgadu Stadium in Anuradhapura this afternoon (09).

The SLPP is organizing a series of public rallies to educate the public on the goals achieved by the government in the face of challenges in line with the ‘Vision of Prosperity’ policy statement.

Addressing the rally, the President claimed that local and foreign forces were working together to prevent the forward journey of the government as they worked to overthrow the then Mahinda Rajapaksa government.

The government’s policy is aimed at the welfare of future generations. Therefore, the President emphasized that he would continue to move forward despite any obstacles.

“Those who take to the streets to protest against the government should look at the people and not the government. Public servants must be dedicated to serving the country and the people. The President also recalled the need to allow government policies to be implemented without closing the country to protect the emerging economy.”

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, Ministers SM. Chandrasena, G.L. Peiris, Rohitha Abeygunawardena, Johnston Fernando, Pavithra Wanniarachchi, State Ministers Shehan Semasinghe, Channa Jayasumana, Kanchana Wijesekera, Member of Parliament H.R. Nandasena, KPS Kumarasiri addressed the function.
