Tourists visiting Sri Lanka required to obtain Sri Lankan Covid insurance coverage

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has announced that all tourist visa and foreign passport holders will be required to obtain Sri Lankan Covid insurance coverage upon arrival in the country.

The insurance which can be obtained at a cost of US$ 12 has a coverage of US$ 75,000 per month, a statement issued by the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority, Upul Dharmadasa said.

Holders of Sri Lankan passports do not need to have such insurance on arrival in the country. Holders of Diplomatic Passports and their families are exempt from this insurance.

The insurance coverage is not required to board an aircraft but upon landing in Sri Lanka the visitors must purchase the insurance policy before leaving the airport.
