(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The High Commission of Pakistan in collaboration with the Trincomalee District Badminton Association organized a Badminton Tournament from 18 to 19 June 2022 at Mc Heyzer Stadium Trincomalee.
The event gave a great opportunity to the students of different ages who participated in the tournament to exhibit their personal hidden skills.
Hon. Anuradha Yahampath, Governor of the Eastern Province attended the Prize Distribution Ceremony as Chief Guest and distributed prizes to winner and runner ups of the tournament.
In his remarks, Mr. Tanvir Ahmad, Deputy High Commissioner thanked the Honourable Governor and Trincomalee District Badminton Association for arranging the Tournament. He said that Pakistan and Sri Lanka share strong bonds of friendship and love for sports is what joins the hearts of Sri Lankans & Pakistanis. He further said that like Pakistan Sri Lanka is a sports-loving country and the Sri Lankan school system is quite active in keeping the youth’s passion towards sports alive. This tournament will further boost our already existing people to people relations.
