Start and Improve Business for Return Migrant Workers

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Ministry of Manpower and Employment, and Foreign Employment Bureau of Sri Lanka introduce start and improve the business program for return migrant workers due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This program is conducted by the Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) Association of Sri Lanka and funded by the International Labour Organization (ILO).

This program provides priority to those who are willing to start or improve an existing business in the districts of Galle, Rathnapura, Puttalam, Kurunegala, Kaluthara, Gampaha, Anuradhapura, Kandy, Batticoloa, Kilinochchi, and Jaffna.

Selected return migrant workers, provide with training and coaching free of charge and will help them to select the most viable business, and develop a business plan for the selected business while those who have an existing business will provide knowledge for the improvement of the business. In addition to that, provide support for access to the market, laced with business service providers both government and privet sector.
