(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – It is with the greatest sadness that the Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA) informs the public about the passing away of one of the SLMA’s distinguished Past Presidents, Emeritus Professor Deshamanya Priyani Elizabeth Soysa (97).
She built the SLMA’s past, nourished the present and blessed the future of the Association. Deshamanya Priyani Elizabeth Soysa was an Emeritus Professor of Paediatrics of the University of Colombo and the first woman to be appointed to a professorial chair in Sri Lanka.
Her remains are lying at A.F Raymond’s Funeral Parlour. The cremation will take place today (April 10) at 5 P.M. at the General Cemetery, Borella.
