(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Hon. ShehanSemasinghe, the State Minister of Finance and Mr. ParameshwaranIyer, the Executive Director of the World Bank engaged in a meeting while attending the annual conference of the International Monetary Fund in Morocco. The Minister said that the World Bank expressed its gratitude for the support of the country’s economic stability and the success of the reforms.
Meanwhile, the current economic conditions including the progress of the economic reform program and the challenges faced by the Sri Lankan economy were discussed in another meeting held between Mr. K. Subramanium, the Executive Director of the IMF and the State Minister of Finance.
The annual meeting 2023 of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank started yesterday (09th) in Morocco. Further, Hon. Semasinghe stated that they are hoping to meet all the partners during this week to strengthen the economic stability and achieve the sustainable economic growth of the country.
Central Bank Governor, Dr.NandalalWeerasinghe, Secretary to the Treasury, Mr. Mahinda Siriwardena and other officials are participating this conference which will be held until 15th in Marrakech, Morocco
