The Government of Japan provides $ 4.6 million through FAO to boost paddy production in the dry and intermediate zones of Sri Lanka

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The Government of Japan through the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is providing USD 4,629,629 to strengthen the production capacity of smallholder paddy farmers in identified districts of the Dry and Intermediate Zones of Sri Lanka.

FAO AND UNODC TO ENHANCE ACCESS TO SKILL DEVELOPMENT IN CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) are working with the Department of Prisons in Sri Lanka to enhance the skills of inmates in modern agriculture practices.

FAO hands over 780 MT free Urea fertilizer for low income farming families in Sri Lanka

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations handed over 780.1 metric tons of urea fertilizer to the Ministry of Agriculture today (16) to provide free urea fertilizer to low-income farming families in the districts of Jaffna, Mullaitivu, Kilinochchi and Badulla for paddy cultivation.
