(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Kapila Waidyaratne, PC attended the opening session of the second day of the 2017 United Nations Humanitarian Civil-Military Coordination (UN-CMCoord) Course for the Asian Region at the Movenpick Hotel in Colombo, yesterday (30th October).
During his brief speech, the Secretary thanked the organizers for selecting Sri Lanka as the venue for this workshop and also said that the participants could learn much through such programs.
The workshop, organized by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) commenced on Sunday (29th Oct.) and is scheduled to end on the 3rd November.
The course is attended by 29 participants from 14 countries including Sri Lanka.
