(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Examinations has started an investigation into a student who had allegedly written answers for the mathematics paper with the support of a mobile phone.
The student is a private applicant and the applicant was taking the exam at an Examination Center in Colombo yesterday (18).
Meanwhile, the Examinations Department has suspended a student from Anuradhapura from taking the GCE O/L exam from today after he was caught using the Viber app to get answers to yesterday’s mathematics paper from an outside source.
The student was from a school in Anuradhapura taking the exam for the second time.
The student was writing the first paper on Mathematics when the invigilators caught him using the Viber app.
The mobile phone was taken by the supervisor and handed over to the police for investigations.
