(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –”Buddha Rashmi” National Vesak Festival consists of ancient relics of Buddha and century old Buddhist Artifact will be declared open by President Maithreepala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wicramasinghe on 29th April at 7 PM at the Temple trees.
Organized by the Government in collaboration with Hunupitiya Ganagaram Temple , this exhibition of Sacred Relics which includes Ancient Artifacts brought from Saranath Area in India, and Thakshila in Pakistan as well as items from Nepal and Botain in addition to artifacts found in Sigiriya Archeology sights will continue 30th of April and 1st and 2nd of May from 9.30 AM to 4 AM of following day.
The Buddha Rashmi Vesak Festival which organized by the Gangarama Temple consist of 220 Vesak Lantern and 2 Vesak Pandals and Dansalas in addition to Buddhist Cultural Concerts.
According to the organizers exhibition of sacred relics will continue in Kalutara, Galle, Matara, Kurunegala, Anuradhapura and Kandy Districts from May 4th to 15th in 6 different Temples. According to statement made by incumbent of Ganagarama Rev. Kirinde Assagi Thero
