Sri Lanka establishes diplomatic relations with Dominica

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –The government of Sri Lanka has decided to establish diplomatic relations with the Commonwealth nation Dominica.

Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations Dr. Amrith Rohan Perera and the Permanent Representative of Dominica to the United Nations signed the agreement in New York on Tuesday to establish diplomatic relations between the two countries with effect from 17th April 2018.

The establishment of diplomatic ties between Sri Lanka and the Caribbean island of Dominica would enhance the existing friendly relations and cooperation in the political, socio-economic and cultural fields for the mutual benefit of the two countries, the permanent mission of Sri Lanka in New York said.
