(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –The Electricity Board said that 60 percent o f country’s electricity is currently generated by hydro power plants due to the increased water levels in Castlereagh and Maussakele reservoirs.
Taking advantage of this spontaneous supply of water the Electricity Board has decided to reduce power supply from Thermal Power stations in order to cut down the cost, said Sri Lanka Electricity Board Spokesman Sulakshana Jayawardhana.
