(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Indonesian President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo today shared an interesting detail about his family with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and told him that his grandson is also named after him.
Born in March 2016, to Widodo’s eldest son Gibran Rakabuming, the grandson was named Jan Ethes Srinarendra.
The candid exchange happened during PM Modi’s first-ever visit to Indonesia. The PM arrived in the Southeast Asian nation last night and was accorded a red carpet welcome upon his arrival at the Merdeka Palace, one of the presidential palaces in Indonesia, this morning.
At the banquet hosted by the President, PM Modi was welcomed with a performance by the renowned Indonesian singer Fryda Lucyana who is not only known for her voice but also for her social and charity work. The singer performed a rendition of the famous song ‘Sabarmati Ke Sant Tune Kar Diya Kamal’ from 1954 movie “Jagriti”.
