(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday inspected the housing complex built in Ruwandeniya, Aranayake as a grant from China for the families affected by the 2014 landslide.
The President had a friendly chat with the villagers during the inspection tour. They thanked the President for the immediate relief provided to them and for allowing them to reside at the new housing complex within a short period.
Ministers Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Duminda Dissanayake, Kabir Hashim and Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Cheng Xueyuan were also present. The Chinese Government funded the construction of 100 houses in Aranayaka at a cost of Rs. 217 million.
