(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –The Closing Ceremony of the 44th National Sports Festival was held under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena at Polonnaruwa Mahaweli District Stadium on Sunday (14).
The National Sports Festival started on 11 October where 1,543 sportsmen and women, representing all 9 Provinces, and 443 Officers gathered in the event.
President Sirisena presented trophies to the most outstanding players.
Golden Awards were presented to players and to the Sports Officials who have completed 25-years of service in the field.
Minister Faizer Musthapa, State Minister Sriyani Wijewickrema, and the Governors of the Provinces, Sports Ministers of the Provinces, and players were present at this occasion.
