Without revealing the specifics of it, the ICC said Zoysa has been charged with three offences under Article 2.1.1, 2.1.4 and 2.4.4 of its code. The charges relate to

  • ‘directly soliciting, inducing, enticing or encouraging a player to breach Code Article 2.1.1’ and
  • ‘failing to disclose to the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Unit full details of any approaches or invitations he received to engage in corrupt conduct’.
Zoysa, who played 30 Tests and 95 ODIs for Sri Lanka during 1997-2007, has 14 days from 1 November 2018 to respond to the charges.
Following the anti-corruption charges, Sri Lanka Cricket have sent Zoysa on immediate leave.
