(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – The alternative route constructed between the Peliyagoda Interchange of Colombo-Katunayake Expressway, and the new Kelani Bridge being constructed is open for traffic from today.
The Colombo-bound traffic on the Colombo-Puttalam route and the Colombo-Kandy route entering the city is temporarily halted from the Peliyagoda interchange.
Accordingly, the vehicles coming from Colombo on the expressway entering the Puttalam road and the Kandy road at the Peliyagoda interchange will be stopped. However, vehicles traveling on the Colombo-Katunayake Expressway, as well as vehicles traveling on Colombo-Kandy and Colombo-Puttalam routes will not be affected.
