(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Importing substandard motorcycle helmets will be banned, Minister of Transport and civil Aviation Arjuna Ranatunga said.
Minister Ranatunga says most of the road accidents involve motorcycles and the risk of death from motorcycle accidents has increased due to the use of substandard helmets.
Minister made these remarks while participating in an awareness program held at the Gampaha Bandaranayake Vidyalaya yesterday (11) to enlighten schools on road safety and minimizing road accidents.
The program was organized by the National Council for Road Safety as another step to raise awareness among school students on road safety
