(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – The Second Reading of the Appropriation Bill (2019) was passed by the House yesterday.
In the division that was taken, 119 votes were cast in favor while 76 votes were against it. The UNP and TNA voted for the budget while UPFA and JVP have decided to vote against the Second Reading of the Budget 2019.
The Appropriation Bill (2019) was thereafter referred to the Committee of the whole Parliament.
The Third Reading of the Appropriation Bill or the Committee Stage Debate will be held on March 13th and continue until April 5th. The voting on the Budget is to be conducted on 5th April.
